My nursery school days with Miss Harper 1959-61 were the happiest days of my life and I remember them so well. Every day at elevenses we children would fight to have the red mugs, then there was a walk to the meadow where the bad boys would stamp in the cow pats, and back for a story sitting in a circle round her chair. Fellow pupils I remember were Clare and Stephen Belfield, David and Simon Partner, Julia Darling, Sarah Johnson and Raglan Hay-Wills. I wonder if they remember it as well as I do, but most people's memories alas don't stretch back earlier than the age of 5 or 6 like mine do.

I have known Miss Harper all my life. She was my Brown Owl in 1965 - 1968.
My brother, two daughters and niece attended the nursery . My mother worked with her from 1965 until 1979. She was a remarkable lady . We have kept in touch over the years and always had such fun reminiscing . Her dedication to her work and the community have been outstanding . She will be greatly missed. My condolences to her family. Susan Lane
